In buildings which include car lifts, the Planning Authority may require the developer to appoint an engineer in order to look into various aspects of the configuration of the proposed car lift vis-à-vis, and to advise the property owner and the architect of possible methods to comply.
In this type of study, the engineer takes into account a number of considerations. These include the methods in which cars can approach the car lift from the road, and how cars can leave the car lift to the road.
In this way, the engineer is in a position to offer advice on the requirements to comply to policy guidelines on car lifts.
